CrAzY Mead Co. is now licensed and about to start fermenting our first batch of mead. We have talked to many people and it seems that the normal focus for a new company is to do things affordably and to make as much profit as possible. Well, we are going to make our commercial meads the same way we make our homemade meads and that means we are going to make a mead that we would want to drink... Big, Flavorful, High Alcohol Meads. It takes a Hell of a LOT of fermentables (and lots of mola) to make the Meads we love, so Cheap is not in our equation.

For our first batch we are going to try to do something we have never done before. We want our first mead to be so BIG and HIGH in alcohol that it can not be sold legally in the state of Texas! Not sure if it can be done, but follow our progress and we shall see together. We are shooting for 24% ABV or higher. Now don’t worry, if by chance we do pass 24% we will add pure honey and apple juice to tame the beast and make it legal. We don’t want to, but if we don’t you will never get to enjoy it and we will have to drink it all ourselves.

We may activate the blog to post what CrAzY things we are fermenting.
